The Province of Mpumalanga, meaning "place of the rising sun" is situated on the north east border of South Africa bounded by Swaziland and Mozambique.
Highveld grasslands dominate the west, moving eastwards through bushveld to the Greater Drakensberg Escarpment which overlooks the lowveld and
the Kruger National Park. The wildlife, birds and plant life are truly representative of Africa.
The climate is mild throughout the year. Temperatures vary from mild winters between 0-15°C (32-59°F) to warm hot summers between 20-40°C (68-104°F).
Summer is from October to April and winter from May to September providing a welcome getaway for visitors from the Northern Hemisphere.
